Apparel Sourcing in Pakistan
We handle apparel sourcing in Pakistan for sportswear, gym wear, workwear, uniforms and caps, using factories we check for you. First we find the right maker; then we follow your order and inspect it before it ships.
How Apparel Sourcing in Pakistan Works With ProQ
Apparel sourcing in Pakistan goes far more smoothly when someone on the ground checks the factory before you pay a deposit. ProQ Sourcing is a sourcing and inspection agent based in Sialkot. We are not a manufacturer, and we own no factory. Instead, we work for you, the buyer: we shortlist clothing manufacturers in Pakistan, check them, negotiate, follow production and inspect the goods.
Pakistan has a deep textile base, from cotton spinning to knitting, dyeing and cut-and-sew. In addition, Sialkot and the nearby industrial cities make team kits, activewear, uniforms and caps for export. However, the hard part for a new buyer is telling a capable exporter from a trading office with good photos. That is the part we handle.
You keep a direct contract with the factory. Meanwhile, we give you facts, written reports and a second pair of eyes at every stage. As a result, you decide with evidence instead of trust.
What We Source in Apparel
Apparel sourcing in Pakistan covers far more than T-shirts. Below are the product groups we handle most often, along with the details that decide quality in each one.
Sportswear and activewear
Jerseys, shorts and socks are usually made in polyester interlock or mesh. Fabric weight is stated in GSM (grams per square metre), so lighter fabrics suit hot-weather sports. Sublimation printing puts full designs, names and numbers on each piece; as a result, there is no charge per colour. After washing tests, we also check that prints stay sharp.
Leggings, sports bras, tank tops and joggers come in poly-spandex or nylon-spandex blends. Four-way stretch, opacity (no see-through when stretched) and flatlock seams that lie flat on the skin matter most. For example, brands often add silicone grip tape, reflective prints or heat-transfer logos.
Compression tops and shorts need a higher spandex share and good recovery, which is the fabric’s ability to return to shape. Karate and jiu-jitsu uniforms, on the other hand, use cotton drill or pearl weave. Because shrinkage is the common complaint, we wash-test samples and also check reinforced stitching at the collar and knees.
Uniforms, workwear and headwear
Coveralls, cargo trousers and hi-vis jackets are made in poly-cotton twill or canvas, often with reflective tape, bar-tacked pockets and heavy-duty zips. Hi-vis items usually follow a buyer’s safety spec. Therefore we check tape placement and fabric colour against that spec.
Lab coats, medical scrubs, school uniforms and corporate uniforms are reordered every season. For this reason, the colour must match across repeat orders. So we compare each batch with your approved shade and, in addition, keep the reference on file.
Baseball, trucker, bucket, boonie and newsboy caps come in cotton twill, polyester or mesh. The main choices are a structured or unstructured crown, a snapback or strap closure, and flat or 3D embroidery. In addition, we check embroidery density, sweatband finish and peak shape after packing.
How We Verify Clothing Manufacturers in Pakistan
In apparel sourcing in Pakistan, a photo catalogue tells you very little. Therefore, before a factory goes on your shortlist, we visit it and check the points below. Our full method is explained on the supplier verification in Pakistan page.
Cutting and stitching capacity
First, we count working lines and machines, from single-needle and overlock to flatlock and bar-tack. Then we compare that with your quantity and delivery date.
In-house or subcontracted
Many units send printing, embroidery or even stitching outside. So we ask which process happens where, and no step stays hidden from you.
Pattern and grading skill
We look at how the factory makes patterns and grades sizes, because poor grading causes the fit problems buyers usually find too late.
Fabric supply
We check where fabric comes from and whether the mill supplies test reports. We also see how rolls are stored and checked on arrival.
Export experience
We review export paperwork and past shipments. That way, we know if the factory follows the labelling, packing and shipping rules of your market.
Sample-to-bulk consistency
Finally, we compare earlier samples with bulk goods on the floor. This shows whether quality holds up when volumes rise.
Quality Checks on Apparel Orders
Most garment defects are cheap to fix on the line but expensive to fix after shipping. For that reason, every apparel order gets two checks: first during production, and then again before the cartons are sealed. Both visits are described on our inspection services in Pakistan page.
In addition, we review mill test reports for colour fastness, which shows whether a fabric bleeds or fades in washing, rubbing and light.
What we check
- Fabric GSM and composition against the tech pack
- Shrinkage and colour fastness results
- Measurements against the size chart and tolerance
- Print and embroidery position, size and durability
- Labels, care instructions, polybags and carton marks
Defects we look for
- Skewed or twisted seams
- Shade variation between fabric rolls
- Measurements out of tolerance
- Skipped stitches, open seams and loose threads
- Cracked prints and puckered embroidery
- Stains, holes and wrong labels
Why Sialkot Works for Apparel Sourcing in Pakistan
Sialkot grew as an export town for sports goods, and garment making followed the same buyers. Today, the city and the area around it have cut-and-sew units, sublimation printers, embroidery workshops and trim suppliers within a short drive of each other.
For garment sourcing, Sialkot therefore offers a practical benefit: one day can cover the factory, its printer and its fabric supplier. As a result, checks are faster and problems stay visible. In addition, Lahore and Faisalabad add knitting, dyeing and larger cotton mills when a programme needs bulk fabric.
Most factories here already export. Because of that, tech packs, size sets and buyer inspections are normal for them.

Private Label Apparel and Customisation
Most apparel sourcing in Pakistan that we manage is for brands selling under their own label. However, private label apparel needs more than a logo. So we plan each branding point with the factory and, before bulk, check it on samples.
- Logos by sublimation, screen print, heat transfer, embroidery or silicone print
- Woven or printed neck labels, care labels and size labels
- Hang tags, barcodes and polybag warnings for your market
- Custom colours matched to your Pantone references
- Folding method, carton marks and size ratios per carton
For OEM apparel, where the factory produces to your design, we start from your tech pack. If you do not have one yet, our custom sportswear development services take you from sketch to approved sample. Similarly, uniforms for clubs, schools and companies follow the same route, with extra attention to colour matching between repeat orders.
Questions About Apparel Orders
Orders and samples
What is the minimum order quantity for apparel from Pakistan?
It varies by product and factory. For example, styles made from stock fabric can usually start lower than styles that need custom-dyed fabric, because mills set their own dyeing minimums. So send us your style, quantity per colour and size spread, and we will tell you which factories fit before you commit.
Can I mix sizes and colours in one order?
Usually yes. Factories quote per style and colour, and most accept a size spread within each colour. However, very small runs per colour can push the unit price up. Therefore we check the quote breakdown with you, so you can see where the cost changes and decide whether to merge or split colours.
How many samples should I expect before bulk production?
It depends on how new the design is. For instance, a repeat style may only need a pre-production sample. A new design, on the other hand, usually goes through a proto sample, a fit sample and a pre-production sample. We also track every change, so nothing is lost between rounds.
Designs, tech packs and fabric
Do you work from my tech pack?
Yes. A tech pack is the document with measurements, fabrics, trims and construction details for each style. First we share it with shortlisted factories; then we collect their questions and make sure the sample follows it. If something is missing, we point it out before sampling starts, not after.
Who owns my designs and artwork?
You do. We share your files only with the factories working on your order and never with other buyers. Your tech pack, artwork and samples stay yours, so you can also move them to another factory later.
Can the fabric come from a different supplier than the garment factory?
Yes. Some buyers nominate a fabric mill, while others let the factory buy fabric. If you nominate the mill, we check that fabric arrives on time and matches the approved swatch. Either way, fabric approval comes before cutting, because most quality problems start in the fabric.
